Long time no post eh?

So little over a year and the car still pulling strong, got a AFR gauge, a 9-3 front bumper cover that needs paint, a subframe that needs some welding attention maybe a small custom 4-6 point brace, Added a steering rack brace that tames the torque steer a good bit. A new oil cooler (long story), hids, subs, broke the top, fixed the top, top broke again, fixed it... sorta. oh and i can shoot te flames too. Oh and I hit a semi truck.

Lotta go, need to put on the aero brakes i have been planning.

Basically I was just being dumb, and the semi in front of me was either in low gear or first just letting it roll and the light had been green, and so he was going slower than i had originally assumed, and i hit him with abs kickin in and i curbed the hell out of the passenger side.

replaced the core support, hood, driver headlight, corner light and oil cooler. and grille

edit: add grill

so... ABS helped or hurt? 100% serious. I hear people saying it doesn't do jack or makes you take longer to brake.

I believe it helped my situation, had i not cut the the right i would have definitely taken out both headlights at the least, you can easily see where i connected with the truck by the line up the hood, had i not cut to the right it would have definitely split the grill and caused more damage. imho other than being reckless the 9-5 aero upgrade (need '97+ spindles, aero calipers, brackets, and lines) and a better compound tire would have prevented this, don't really think abs has an impact on distance. I definitely plan on doing some trial and error tests when I do the brakes. see the difference in stopping, keeping tires and wheel size constants, may do a w/ abs and w/o. when it comes down to it, id rather have the control under severe braking because i didn't think to pump the brakes. just my .02

My Saab many years ago.

Not many choices for wheels back then either.

I recently ditched ABS on my AWD turbo Mitsu that I recently tracked and rallyXed. I prefer without it. Computer aids ain't driving, you driving is.

Ford V4 engine that I double the factory horsepower in a tiny fiberglass gokart body. FWD, no good to drift.

SaabKid, let me know if you are coming 200 Drifter and if so I got some Saab swag I'll bring to give you.
