95 saab

Post by Saab_kid » Mon Mar 21, 2011 3:49 am

Welp this is what i got, my first car. 1995 Saab 900SE convertible. I guess you can say its my on going project/ DD?
ive done a few things/ had a few things done
Clutch and trans replaced at 100k due to a 3rd gear synco and reverse issues and clutch was about gone.
interior
ive taken out most sound damnpineing materal (about 30lbs worth) compleatly cleaned out the trunk
1000w amp and 1 pioneer 12, after market deck and door speakers
glow shift boost gauge

on the outside
tinted tails ( just enought to take the edge off the glaring red)
saab rally pig emblem on the rear
25.5mm (1in) rear sway bar
clear corner lights
restoring trim
custom mesh grille ( basily i went at the stock grille with a dremel painted it black and added gutter guard)

engine stuff
open air box
hks ssqv
mbc
new vaccume lines
2.5in cat back to a resonator custom exhaust

and thats really all i can think of. oh here are some pics. Tell my what you think!

Looks clean! Can you give us a little bit of story on this car, as to why you're working on it and upgrading sway bars and stuff? Do you have any goals with this?
Sway is like a race horse; if you push it sometimes, it's ok, but if you are hard on it all the time, then it's going to break its ankle and then you will have to shoot it.

well i thought i would maybe try an autox event. the car is fwd so im draggin the rear everywhere the sway bar helps keep the back in line with the front a heck of a lot better than stock.

thanks guys. i don't know if either of you remember but im pretty sure i met you both up at dinwitty. i drove my dads merc at the time.

to elaborate more on why i got the saab i didnt really wanna follow the crowd and get another civic or integra. And my dad wanted me to get a car that was new or had a good record. and the saab we got from a co-worker of my dads. Originaly i was not to enthused about it, i knew it looked dorky but when it eventually grew on me i realized i could do different things. and watching people throw gt3071r's and hx35s on stock internals with bigger injectors and a tune and just walking over pretty much everything was pretty cool to see.
