Sway is like a race horse; if you push it sometimes, it's ok, but if you are hard on it all the time, then it's going to break its ankle and then you will have to shoot it.

I'd love to man haha. Only reason why I even went to the meet last night is because I didn't have school on Memorial Day, I have barely enough money each two weeks to drive to school, and pay my phone bill lol. I'd go for antique plates if they didn't limit me to only 250 miles a year...

Trading for another car would put you in the same situation. The fees to renew tags for your next vehicle is still quite a bit. You're better off sticking to your guns and fixing what you already own.

Yeah, I get you, but it'd keep me from getting pulled over. My dad said he'd pay to put new tags and registration on another car if I got one though, so that's not really an issue. Shit, you know you wanna add another hachiroku to your collection lol.

Only tags and windshield and any funny driving would get you pulled over. Just get those things done and see why he has to pull you over again. Those things you are being charged for are so easily fixable.

I had been mostly daily driving my AE86s since 2006.

But the $1,200 needed to get the carbs swapped back to EFI (there is absolutely nothing to do with electronic fuel injection on this car, including ECU) stands in the way of getting new plates. They won't do that without VA inspection.

As painful as this sounds, swap back to stock, pass inspection, and then put your setup back in. You can figure out a solution for emissions after you pass on the stock setup. Dunno how VA works about reinspection, but I'd consider finding a "friendlier" shop for it so you don't have to jump through all these hoops.

Or you and I do a complete motor swap. Mine has emissions still in it.

Yeah the whole issue is that I don't have any of the stock parts, or money to buy them lol.
