Here is a view from the back set my buddy shot with his phone. The music is coming from his phone. This is going around the carussell with a little driftage at the end.

The same elements that make drifting a tough sport to raise money with are the ones that also make it so much fun in my opinion.

1. Most drifters are young and don't have a ton of money.
DOWNSIDE: This means the tracks cant charge as high entry fees as they do for HPDE/RoadRace events or many drifters wont show up.
UPSIDE: Events are low key and the atmosphere is more carefree --no one takes themselves too serously (no one shows up with $500,000 worth of race equipment) and people dont freak out when something goes wrong with their car or someone elses car on the course. Instead of being pissed the circuit is shut down they take time out of their runs to help the individual fix their car.

2. Free ride alongs.DOWNSIDE: People running the event cant charge more money so the mandated instructors get free entry to the events...and you cant raise money for ride alongs as mentioned above.
UPSIDE: Spectators can get a taste of the sport. Old people get to lend knowledge to the newbies trying to learn to drift and then the newbs can hop ino the Pros' cars and learn by watching as well. (This ability to take passengers is one of may favorite parts of drift events. It makes the event so much more fun for everyone!)

FYI summit does a $10 spectator fee. I'm not sure if that means ride alongs aren't free.

This was just put up today.

Sway is like a race horse; if you push it sometimes, it's ok, but if you are hard on it all the time, then it's going to break its ankle and then you will have to shoot it.
